If you see yourself as a changemaker, Red Sweater Project might be just the program for you. Keep reading to learn more about this exciting opportunity to live abroad and make a difference!
Red Sweater Project collaborates with developing communities in the creation of affordable, accessible and advanced educational opportunities for children in rural Tanzania. The non-profit organization operates Mungere Secondary School near the town of Mto wa Mbu in the northern Arusha Region.
The Volunteer Program at Red Sweater Project connects like-minded people from around the globe with communities in rural Tanzania to bring about long-term change in communities where infrastructure and lack of social services inhibits children from gaining an education. We work together to drive positive change and make an impact. You have the power to be a changemaker.
Red Sweater Project is accepting applications for an English Teacher to teach Forms I-IV (7th – 10th grade) English as a Second Language (ESL/ELL) courses at Mungere Secondary School, engaging the students to speak, read and write English.
The students live in a remote Maasai community, where English is rarely spoken, and primary school is taught in Swahili. Yet, Tanzanian secondary school curriculum is English-based and the language barrier can be an obstacle to learning. The English Teacher engages students to actively participate in English classes and extra-curricular activities designed to broaden English skills.
